Our goal was the Maryhill Art Musem, overlooking the Columbia River from the north in Washington. We camped one night alongside the Metolius River, a second above Lake Billy Chinook, both in Oregon, and at Horsethief Lake State Park in Washington. We hiked into the Crooked River Gorge on the second day and walked a short section of the Pacific Crest Trail on the way home. We stopped at the De Moss Family Wayside, Stonehenge in replica, the Maryhill Art Museum, and saw an array of petroglyphs that had been rescued in advance of the Columbia River dams.
